Wix partner revenue share vs iNterGine: what one client site earns you and costs you in hours
On Wix and WordPress you can be paid a share of what your client spends with the platform, and you build every site yourself. With iNterGine, we build the site from your free work order, you charge your own fee and keep all of it, and we pay you no share: our trade is your hours.
Where your hours go on each
The jobs that win and keep a client stay yours on all three: finding the business, collecting what they want, showing them the site and looking after it. The difference is the build and the upkeep. As a Wix Partner or a WordPress agency you design and build every site; on a WordPress site someone also has to keep WordPress up to date and check that its plugins and themes still work with each new version (WordPress.org: Updating WordPress, read 7 November 2026). As an iNterGine webmaster you send a work order and we build the site, free, in 2 to 3 business days, then host and update it.
Who pays whom, for one client site
Wix Partner
The client paysThe client pays Wix for a premium plan (regular Wix plans: $17.77 to $159.77 a month, billed yearly).
The platform pays youWix pays you "20%+ revenue share on every Wix Studio Premium site you purchase and publish". Conditions: yearly plans only; you must be the site's first owner; at least one new premium site every 12 months; regular Wix Premium plans pay only at the Legend level (5,000+ points).
You chargeYour build fee: yours.
WordPress agency
The client paysThe client pays for hosting and products (WordPress.com Business: $25 a month billed yearly, $40 monthly).
The platform pays youAutomattic pays "recurring commissions of up to 50% on everything from hosting to extensions" sold through its agency program; levels depend on revenue in Automattic's ecosystem.
You chargeYour build and upkeep fees: yours.
iNterGine webmaster
The client paysThe client pays iNterGine $30 a month ($360 a year), everything included. Every iNterGine site also installs on a phone like an app; try it on any demo site.
The platform pays youiNterGine pays you no share. It builds the site instead, free, in 2 to 3 business days.
You chargeYour set-up and care fees: 100% yours.
To be clear about what we do not offer: Wix and Automattic pay partners a recurring share, and iNterGine does not. What you get instead is the build itself, so the hours a site would have cost you become hours you can spend finding and serving the next client.
Work it out with your own hours
Every webmaster works at a different speed, so we will not guess your hours. Use your own:
What one client site leaves you = your fee + any platform share − (your hours × what an hour of your time is worth)
| Your hours per site | Wix Partner | WordPress agency | iNterGine webmaster |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meeting the owner, collecting content | your hours | your hours | your hours |
| Design and build | your hours | your hours | none: send the work order (about 20 minutes, step 5 of the guide) |
| Software and plugin upkeep, each month | none (Wix) | your hours, or a host's fee | none |
| Showing the owner, small changes, care | your hours | your hours | your hours |
The free Invoice Maker has a price calculator that turns your hours and hourly rate into a set-up and a monthly care fee.
Where Wix and WordPress are the better choice
- A recurring share. If you want the platform to pay you every month, Wix's partner revenue share and Automattic's referral commissions do that; iNterGine does not.
- Building it yourself. If designing every site by hand is what you enjoy and sell, Wix Studio and WordPress give you that control. On iNterGine you can still change everything yourself, but there is no technical learning curve: you build only if you want to.
- Huge add-on markets. The Wix App Market and WordPress's plugin directory ("the largest directory of free and open source WordPress plugins", wordpress.org/plugins) offer add-ons for almost any need; on Wix some are free, some have a free plan or trial, some need a premium site (both read 7 November 2026). On iNterGine almost everything is built in, and anything extra runs as an app in the site's app area, built by our in-house app development team.
Where iNterGine is the better choice: when you want to earn from finding and serving clients rather than from building, and to hand over a fast site with everything built in, so you can take on more clients in the same week, and earn more, sooner. See the real speed test of the same site on Wix and on our platform.
